What is Open Banking and why have I been sent a link?
We may ask you to complete Open Banking as part of a lending application to help us assess affordability.
If you’re applying for a loan, we may ask you to complete an Open Banking check as part of your application.
You may receive a link that looks similar to:
https://tinyurl.com/4ttxk2xx
When you open the link, you’ll see oohMoolah displayed at the top of the page. oohMoolah is the secure Open Banking provider we use.
What is Open Banking?
Open Banking gives us read-only access to view your recent income and outgoings so we can assess affordability for your loan application.
It does not allow us to:
-
Move money
-
Make payments
-
Change your account details
You remain in control of which bank and which account you choose to connect.
Open Banking is simply a quicker way of sharing your bank statement information. It saves you from having to download statements and send them to us manually.
Is the link genuine?
If you have applied for a loan with us and have been sent this link, it is part of your application process.
If you are unsure or were not expecting it, please contact us directly using the contact details on our website.
Can I send bank statements instead?
Yes. If you would prefer not to use Open Banking, we can accept PDF copies of your bank statements instead.
Please contact us on 0131 225 9901 and we will confirm how many months of statements we require.
What happens next?
Once you complete the Open Banking process, the information is sent securely to our Loans Team for review. They will assess your application and aim to progress it as quickly as possible.
